A few years ago, I moved to Haarlem. It was a drastic move from the eastern part of the Netherlands to the western part, although the Netherlands is a fairly small country. I left behind a city filled with old memories and places with various reminders.
A life in Nijmegen did not fit me anymore as a person.
Haarlem felt like a blank, fresh and crispy new canvas. Able to live so close to the ocean and the beach, was one of my biggest wishes coming true. The many visits to the beach brought me this intense happiness.
35 years ago, I was born at the edge of a forest. This was one of the first forest encounters in Haarlem. Like a flashback, I was emotionally blown away and I captured this photo. I’m creating new memories now.
